Life is full of it’s little wonders. I’m constantly amazed at the wonders of life that surround us, seen and unseen. Like the Holy Spirit, the connection to Christ that we have directly, and the mercy of our Father to His rebellious children. It’s wonderful that we just need to turn to Him, and He promises to draw near to us when we seek Him. The only distance created between us is established by ourselves turning away from Him.
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
In this world of advancement in tech which allows people to gain access to more information in one second than we’ve ever had available to us through means of deep research, like when I was a kid.
In my childhood, before the internet. Back when computers were only beginning to be created. There was literally no internet ya’ll. None. Before Google, Bing, Yahoo and all the search engines doing the work for us popped up. Back when people used their brains to figure out the answers to math problems instead of calculators and notes during their math tests. We read books to find out the answers to our questions. We actually had to search the library catalog to find the subject we were interested in, and then we had to search all the books that were related to that subject and hope after reading or skimming through the bold print that we could find the information we were looking for.
I appreciate the ease now in researching information through tech. Old school was way too much work. However, with this upgrade in the digital spread of information we find that appreciation for this knowledge is lost. It’s just too easy to look it up, so no need to actually remember anything, just go to Google and you’ll get the answer every time.
So instead of people feeding their brains with information about things that help them live better lives, like how to cook for oneself, proper nutrition, or how to mend ones clothes or even make clothes. How to grow a garden. Make your own soap. The how to’s of old that made people independent 100 years ago is lost. Instead they use this tool of technology to search for sex, and violence. So, the enemy wins because he’s taken societies self confidence. He’s made knowledge cheap. Lying to you telling you that you’re actually smarter because you have the information at your fingertips (soon to be a part of your body). Don’t rely on technology. Use it, and don’t let it use you.
Don’t fear technology. Concentrating on the horrible things coming from the world and advances in technology only feeds our fears. Fear is from the enemy, so I don’t watch the news. I do read news, but I sift through it.
Instead of focusing on the things out of my control going on in the world. I’m choosing to enjoy the little wonders of life. My family praying together. My kids singing for me. A song that brings back a beautiful memory of people and times no longer in my life. A delicious healthy meal eaten with family and friends. A hug. A kiss. An embrace. A back rub, a neck rub, or a foot rub from someone I love. These little wonders are what make life worth living.
What are your little wonders of life that remind you that life is beautiful?
“There is nothing better for a man than to eat and drink and tell himself that his labor is good. This also I have seen that it is from the hand of God.”
